I have an app which currently runs under XP and Vista, the setup
routine under Installshield (which ships with VFP 9) things have been
going ok now I haven't had the time or resources to acquire a copy of
Windows 7 and just talked with a new client who wants the app and who
will be installing in on a machine running Windows 7. Are there any
issues I need to be aware of as far as differences between Vista and
7.

TIA

no problem with win7 upgraded on existing computer.... possible problem with
new computer with win7,... haven't figured it out yet but existing computer
had more .dll's that remained after upgrading, and new win7 didn't. I'll
let you know when I find it.

It depends. if your app installed and ran on Vista because you (or your
users) disabled UAC then you'll need to do the same on Win7.

Win7 (depending on the version) adds virtualization that can allow your
app to run in WinXP mode, sidestepping any compatibility issues for
now.

As a member of MS BizSpark program I was finally able to download a
copy of Windows 7 Home Premium and once I got it installed I am
pleased to note that the application installed and ran fine under it.
The only thing was that infernal 'must run as administrator' for the
1st running, but after that it all worked as it should....
thanks
