My experience with this is that it's ie's security settings and not
limited to win7... it's probably there because of a default install of ie.

Go into the internet settings "_intra_net" security settings and
manually add the share containing the exe as a "trusted zone"

fwiw, this has been a real pita, especially since there is no obvious
way to see how to address it.

Not advisable to turn it off as it opens potential security holes, but you
can turn off UAC.

I hope we dont have people blindly accepting security as a solution to anything. I was an operatibg systems engineer for the second largest company in the world. Security doesn't do anything but slow people down in their work.

Yes, we need secure data. But the secret is in people not mandatory security. The compant I used to work for was DEC. Security was elective. There no longer any electivity to it.

Nonsense. Security, properly done, keeps data out of the hands
of those who should not have it. The problem is getting to
properly-done.

Optional security might as well be no security. Someone will
complain that it slows him down, say you, and there it goes.
